He arched his brow but followed, mocking, “Oh no. Please don’t make me walk alo- ouch!”
Minerva, who had slipped up behind him, put her hands quickly behind her and stared at him with a blank expression, “What?”
He eyed her and smiled, “I’ll have the house elf make sure you have dinner and will send Poppy right along when she finishes.” He turned back to Sophia, “Come along, my snarky daughter.”
She waved a dismissive hand, “No, go on. I’ll be fine. Poppy mentioned she may be by as soon as she’s. finished with her meal for a chat. You and your father can continue having wit-battles.” She smiled reassuringly.
“Well I really don’t mind…,” Sophia bit down on her…

She looked to Sophia, “If I get finished soon and Poppy is out of here, I’ll come down. Otherwise, wait there until I’ve sent a message to the both of you.”
“You only won this game because your mother cheated. It still stands at eight games.” He smirked gently, “Always a pleasure. Shall we go down for dinner?”
She turned on her heel and began to walk out as she rolled her eyes…

“Eight.” He said before looking down at Minerva. “You’re not dressed.”
She chuckled and nodded, “Your observational skills astound me. No, I am not. I have to finish my work. I will eat in here.”
He snorted in laughter and pointed a finger at her, “Such a typical Gryffindor response. Too much confidence and not enough humbling to make you think and plan ahead for the good and the bad.”
“Enough gloating, the both of you. Someone will end up hurting the others’…
